A Few of Her Favorite Things

It's been a long time since I really posted any updates about Dano...you can see why over at my other blog, but I'll spare you the rant here.

So Dano will be 3 months old as of next week. We have an appointment to get her pictures taken (as part of the newborn package we purchased while at the hospital). I'm hoping she won't be too fussy! Our next appointment with the doctor won't be until March, so no updates from that arena. I did however weigh her the other day at home and we're about 8.5 pounds. I'm also fairly certain she had a growth spurt just this week because she's been eating like a piggy and we had to adjust the car seat again. While I am so happy she's growing well, it makes me want to cry. My baby is growing up.

She is currently staying with her Aunt Holly and Uncle Krusty (eh, Mark) during the day and she seems to really enjoy it. Cousin Gabe also helps keep her entertained and she likes that guy, he's not only silly, but makes fun noises. We have some pictures from her babysitter experiences, but I'll save those for a post of their own [I say this because I don't have those pics with me].

In the past couple of weeks, my Dano has really started to show her personality. She smiles and giggles at the things she really enjoys and throws in the "princess factor" for when she wants you to know she wants something now, and 5 minutes is not NOW.

Some of the things we've learned (or re-established) that she enjoys:

  • Piggies (her toes being played with and 'This Little Piggy')

  • When mom says "weeeeee weeeeeee weeeeeee"

  • Daddy, pretty much anything daddy

  • The word watermelon (we have a few around)

  • Someone "getting" her nose

  • Being Nekked!

  • Showers/Baths

  • Snuggling in bed with mommy

  • The television

  • Stroller rides around the house, well, moving in general

  • In general, things are good. She's still not sleeping through the night, but she is at least nursing for her 2 a.m. feeding (all that continued trying at breastfeeding paid off). She's holding her head up pretty well but still does some bobble-head-baby. She's learning to roll to her side. She's starting to pull her feet up to her though not yet grabbing or holding them yet. She talks a lot. She melts our hearts!
