Last Sixth Grade Lunch

I just packed my kiddo's last lunch of 6th grade. It's probably not a thing my mom thought about, packing my final 6th-grade lunch....but after that year, I exclusively bought my lunch at school.  I doubt my child will be doing that.  She'll be at the same school, whereas I and all my peers moved on to junior high school.

It's been a year.  Work is killing me (I think quite literally).  But in this time we've done school volleyball, Y volleyball, stopped martial arts (just as she was preparing to test for 2nd-degree blackbelt), and participated in track and field.  She did a new activity this year - the high jump.  She excelled for having no training with it.  She jumps 4'-2".  4'-4" is enough to qualify for state, and we're going to get there!  She also ran her best 800 at 3:03.  Qualifying is 2:55...just a mere 8 seconds of.  She also ran the 1600 and got close to her PR from the previous year.

She's had braces for all of 6th grade.  She had them put on in January 2022.  She lost her first bracket in March 2023, but in April they took a bunch off to replace them...the timing was good.  She had them replaced and within a month the two back uppers (the sevens) popped off.

She's my height now.  Not that it's saying much, I'm short.  But, just worth noting.

I have yet to get her to the orthopedist to look at her toes...that's a debacle, which I am sure will work itself out.  Eventually.

She has had honor roll all year again.  Two semesters with high honors, one with regular honors, and we have to see how the last semester shakes out.

She is currently saving money to buy a Google Pixel 7 Pro.
