2018 End of Year

First of all, let me say that the post "Rough Week" indicated that my precious girl lost her favorite earrings.  Well, she did, but we found them.  She had them in time for picture day and the world was fine.

I made her dress again this year for pictures, a pretty green velvet knit that was a pain to sew.  It did have a heart shape cut out in the back.

She turned 8, and in doing so ditched the booster seat in the car.  No, let me restate that.  She ditched it in dad's vehicle.  I wanted to wait before letting her out of it in my car but eventually caved about a week after her birthday.

She celebrated her birthday at Skyzone, which was fun for her and her friends.  She celebrated it ON  her birthday because it was golden (your age = the day of your birthday (in this case 8 on the 8th)).

Christmas was mostly uneventful.  She received a nice letter from Santa, some wonderful gifts, and we had a good time.  She did not want to head back to school today.

Other things: this year she asked me how babies come out of bellies.  She did not ask me how they get in there.  She's nervous because she thinks a boy (nicknamed Gus Gus) like-likes her (a dreadful thing at her age).  She's in advanced Krav Maga (brown belt 2).  She might doubt Santa.  Her reading skills, math skills, art skills, singing skills, and piano skills (among others) are so much more improved this year.  It's amazing to see a child coming together so to speak.  She's amazing, and I hope she knows it and will always remember it.
