My grandpa passed away. It's caused a ruckus in a lot of ways, and I miss him. But for a brief amount of time, all the kids were together. It was nice.
The kiddo graduated from Kindergarten. There was a very nice ceremony that day at her school. It wasn't until later that evening that I noticed Lil Bit had a chunk of hair missing. She didn't want to fess up about it but I finally got out of her that she apparently used her school scissors, went to the bathroom and chopped off a chunk of annoying hair that was in her face. Honestly, one can barely tell.
She received her report card, which at this point in time is all numbers. She received all 4's (the highest mark) except in two categories....coin identification and writing her letters correctly. Now, as a person with very poor penmanship, I sort of shrug that last one off except for the fact I know she writes "bubble" letters, something I've warned her about often.
Last night we took a nice walk together and she talked THE WHOLE TIME. Mostly she told me all about her time in child care/summer camp. Last week was Earth Week, this week in all about camping.
I signed her up for dance class again. This time it's just over the summer...something fun to break the monotony. She's still involved in martial arts and is on the verge of graduating to a full orange belt.
She's ridiculously tall, and ridiculously slender but full of muscle. She completes all of the fitness class when she participates with mom and dad (even the running part). She kills it really, I see a long distance runner in the future.
