I'm Not the Only One with A Baby

This week while at work I've been glued to my computer screen watching an eagle family. Currently, as I write this, it's either a mama or papa eagle feeding two young babies. Then it switches to warming them along with one lone unhatched egg. Occasionally the camera pans out to show one of the few dead animals in the nest that the parent eagles pick at to feed the babies.

You often hear of these stories that happen as a once in a lifetime thing, "Blizzard of 82", "Flood of 93", "Red Sox winning a World Series". These are the legends that get passed along generations later, "I was ten when that happened and I had to fish pennies out of a well to go to it too", that sort of thing.

One of the things I hope Dani will get to tell others is that when she was a baby, there was a famous nest of Eagles on a live webcam (that mom was obsessed with watching). I know it sounds silly now, but it's amazing to see nature in this way, up close and yet undisturbed, to see how other creatures care for their babies, and to see just how vulnerable we are at any given time.

Anyway, if you haven't taken a look, it's worth seeing.

Now, I leave you with Dani playing and entertaining herself with her latest skill of grabbing her feet and grabbing objects that are out of her reach, and of course, more giggling (because giggling never gets old)!
